A Day in the Life of a Dog Walker

Dog LifeI seriously have the best job in the world! I spend my day with furry (and some not so furry), four-legged friends. At least one, if not all of the pooches make me laugh daily. I learn something new, from my furry friends, on a regular basis. I had no idea how knowledgeable dogs are – it is amazing the life lessons they can teach you (if you pay attention).

I am not going to lie – there are some days that I ask myself “What was I Thinking?”. The other day, for instance, when we came across a Porcupine – I am still in shock that no one walked away with quills in their nose. Or two weeks ago when not one but three pups rolled in a large pile of wild animal scat. My car still stinks!  Or when I open my car door and and a poof of dog hair comes billowing out.

Doggie Doo DooBut the good far out ways the little bits of bad – I go to bed every night feeling great and fulfilled. I have learned three things from my days with my four-legged friends.

1. Never hold a grudge. Another dog can steal your stick, nip your ears, or take your ball, but never let that stop you from playing.

2. Always make sure you look after all the members of your pack!

3. Relax, let loose, and roll in the dirt now and then!
